Quick thoughts on the Steve Jobs biography
  • There wasn’t enough reflection. Most of the book was recapping Jobs’s life. What I wanted was Jobs reflecting on those moments, sharing his thoughts on his actions and why he made the choices he did. There were few parts where readers got that perspective but it was not enough. It’s disappointing too because unlike the biographies of Einstein and Franklin, the source matter was alive.   • The...

A comment from Gawker's story about Steve Jobs not...
Why is everyone thinking he did anything but make money? I’m tired of all this. First Giz has like 18 articles about him, then NPR spent the better part of 2 hours (probably longer but I cut out after 11am). The man deserves an AP news blurb and that’s it. Other people died yesterday that people need to notice. I did not even know anything about those people and I wish now I did.  I...

Why I hated "Moneyball"
Going into “Moneyball,” I had high expectations. Based on all the reviews, this Brad Pitt baseball movie was this year’s “The Social Network,” one of my favorite movies of last year. I mean, what about “Moneyball” wasn’t exciting - a baseball movie that had an amazing writing pedigree (“The Social Network’s” Aaron Sorkin and...

Guy bitches about Starbucks telling him to leave... →
The horror!!! Best part, @jjroid threatening to sue for discrimination and emotional distress. Shut up. Paying for a coffee and bagel does not equal paying rent to camp out all day at a restaurant.

I'm Against the Death Penalty (how we use it)
We have the death penalty for two reason: punish those who commit the most heinous and to hopefully encourage others not to commit the same crimes (hey, if you kill that little kid, we’re going to off you). Since I don’t believe in God, I’m not held to the semi-Christian believe of only God should take a life (never mind that whole “eye for an eye” thing). To keep...

My (half) Day as an Apple Employee
It should come as no surprise that unless you’re Stephen King or James Patterson, writing doesn’t pay well. So to earn a little extra money, I decided to get a part-time job. So I looked around for a part-time, entry level job — just something I can do on my days off and maybe even at night. There were your usual fast food and retail jobs. But then I saw Apple was hiring....
